The best cities to live (livability score)

Most "best cities to live" lists are one person's opinion. This one is a composite: we normalize each city's cost of living, safety, healthcare, air quality, and walkability into a single 0–100 livability score, so the ranking is transparent and consistent rather than a vibe. It's directional by design — a good way to discover strong all-rounders, not a substitute for deciding what you personally weight.

A composite score is the right tool for discovery and the wrong tool for a decision — because it weights everything equally, and you don't. The assessment re-scores these same cities against your weights, which is where a generic "best city" becomes the best city for you.

Common questions

What makes a city the best to live in?

There's no universal answer — it depends on what you weight. Our livability score blends five sourced factors (cost, safety, healthcare, air, walkability) equally to surface strong all-rounders, but the best city for you depends on which of those you actually care most about.

How is the livability score calculated?

We normalize each city's cost-of-living index, Numbeo safety and healthcare indices, average PM2.5 air quality, and walkability onto a common scale, then blend them into a single 0–100 score. It's a transparent, directional composite of our own data — not an official index.

Which of these fits you?

A list is a place to start, not a way to choose. The assessment reads every city through your relocation profile — and surfaces the ones that fit the life you’re trying to build.
